Baptism Pictures at the Temple

Joseph did a little photo shoot of Bentley a few weeks before his baptism and ever since then, Caroline has been planning her own once she turned 8 and had her new scriptures and white baptism dress all ready. We found a lovely evening on July 1st and sent Joseph and Caroline to our beloved Oquirrh Mountain Temple to grab some pictures. It's easy to see how much Cares loved the whole thing!

I love this girl so much! She is so ready to be baptized and technically should have been in June. It's a long, long story and I still don't agree with how things turned out. In an abbreviated tale, our stake was newly reorganized in February and later in the spring the stake primary decided to change all the previously assigned stake baptism dates for the year. For our May birthday girl that meant we only knew of the change with about a month's notice and we were expected to be perfectly free and willing on a different Saturday in June than the one we had (obediently) planned on way back in January. It became frustrating and hard when the new June date couldn't work for my parents and with Nanny and Grandpa Neil already unable to come we weren't wanting to do it without any grandparents at all. Anyway, we tried to work around it and get it done anyway which the stake presidency agreed to, and then a week later backtracked on. It just turned into a big mess and at the end of it all, we settled on the stake date in July. It has been a long summer of anticipation and rearrangement and this little girl has been the sweetest and most gracious about it all (unlike her mom!). It has been hard for her but she is too good of a soul to dwell on it. I feel blessed that she came to me, and that she is my kindred, awesome, sassy, curious, helpful, hard working, playful, and beautiful daughter.
