July 19th, 2014: baptism day for our beautiful girl. She was very ready and full of light and joy. What a gift this little lady is in our lives and we are incredibly proud of her willing heart and innate goodness.
Pictures beforehand: I really love that duo of Joseph of Caroline! Cares was baptized on the same day as Savannah, a darling girl who is fairly new in our ward. She moved in about 6 months ago but she and Cares have become friends (my girl is a pro at making new friends!) Plus, Savannah's mom Katy is a gem— I lucked out getting her to serve in YW with me right when they were new and she has been a huge blessing and awesome leader! It was fun to share this day with their family (Katy and I basically spent most of July together adding in girl's camp and youth conference :)
The twirly dress. This dress is the coolest as it's building a little history for itself: it was Mary's dress that she wore for her own baptism 26 years ago. This year Tillie and Sisi both wore it for their baptisms and after Caroline it will be Gracie's turn to wear it in the fall. Cares loved having her turn and it made her day all the more special.
The amazing Addie came to support Cares too. We've agreed she is basically our adopted teenage daughter/sister so we were happy to have her!
After the baptism we decided to follow our other siblings' idea and meet up with all our family at a neighboring ward building. It was really nice to go over the night before and set everything up knowing that our kids wouldn't touch a thing or make new messes before we had everyone there :)
Luci told me about her friend who had ordered those cute number 8 donuts from a bakery in Magna and with Cares' love of donuts we knew we wanted to get them too (and sweet Luci offered to pick them up for me since she had friends to see in Magna anyway—so helpful!)
Cousins! We are the luckiest to have so much family around—it is a huge blessing of living where we do. Plus, these are just the coolest people anyway! We love our families and they sure made Caroline feel loved and important on her special day:
It was a beautiful day for our 8 year old girl! I love this sweet family with all my heart and am so grateful for these days which remind us of our divine potential and our journey back to our Father in Heaven.
