Tulips and Tents

Last weekend my Virginia Tanner classes had their spring concert up at Kingsbury Hall. This made it a crazy and very busy weekend for me but I always love seeing my dancers dressed up in colorful costumes and nervous and excited about performing for their families. Brings back about a million memories for me too :) My students did a fantastic job dancing and I was very proud of them. I even got to bring home some of my own bouquets of flowers given to me by the studio and one of my sweet little students.

Just this past weekend, Joseph and Bentley went on their very first fathers and sons outing with our stake. To get Beans excited, Joseph set up the tent in our backyard the day before and both Cares and Beans loved playing in it. I missed my boys on Friday night but they were only about a mile away and ate dinner with us girls before heading over to the park. It turns out that camping was a big hit and they had a great evening together. Now we are feeling motivated to head up the canyon as a family and try some more overnighters. I think my kids are old enough to handle it but I am wondering how we'd arrange the sleeping situation with a 2 year old who is still used to sleeping in a crib...any suggestions?

We are regular pros now, so anyone who wants to join me and Bentley on our next campout is more than welcome. That includes you, Carrie.

Fun that Bean is big enough for Father's and Sons! My boys go next weekend with Daddy so Maddie and I will just play (shop, sleep, whatever).
Are you going to Lifetime tomorrow? Was the water warm? I think I might go in the morning and try to work out with the promise that I will take the kids swimming afterwards. Want to join us?

I love that beans is old enough to do that kind of thing. I already know he loved it. Cute cute!

Boy, this brings back memories! We did a lot of camping together as a family. There was the time when 2 year old Tye, while I thought he was napping in the tent, found my lipstick in my purse and decorated the tent walls and his sleeping bag with it :-) And the disastrous windstorm at Lake Powell (drop the tent, pile the kids and their friends and the dog in the boat and head for the marina, getting a hotel room for the night), and many hot dogs cooked over a campfire and great hikes. Just put Cares in a bag between yours and eventually she will sleep. She'll watch Bentley and figure it out.

And... your recital was fun! That also brought back memories. I love that you now teach and will always be involved in dance.

Pretty flowers! I think it sounds fun to camp at a park.Is your tent big enough for a pack and play? If not, i agree with your mom. Sounds like fun.
